Recession-proofing your web site

With talk of recession, many companies are realizing that as business gets tougher their web sites have to be kept up to date. Their site must be easily found online and compatible with the many browsers if they are to have a competitive edge.

With income getting tighter, and ever-rising gas prices,  more and more people are turning to the web to thoroughly research products, services and prices before spending their hard earned money.

There are a few things you can do to increase your online potential.

Check your information -  Make sure that the information on your site is current, even down to little things like staff names and site copyright dates.  If stated online, make sure your products, services and prices are up to date.  There is nothing more damaging than having a caller who feels misled by older (and usually lower) prices.

Check Compatibility -  There are now three major browsers available just for Windows:  Internet Explorer,  Firefox, and the Mac's Safari. It is advisable to download and install these browsers and check your site out in each.  If you notice major discrepancies, you should contact your web designer to make corrections.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) -  SEO is extremely important to your site's visibility. Done properly, SEO will make sure your site can be easily found online. Before employing anyone to help with your SEO, do your homework and beware of companies that charge big bucks for this service.  Make sure they can back up their claims with proof of search results.

If you are ready to take your business to the next level, this would be a perfect time to research newer web technologies, such as our own WebUpdate4 system, which includes many advanced features including automated SEO to give your business the best competitive edge online.

CLIENT EXPERIENCES

Grand Affairs

'Our first site became outdated very quickly since our industry constantly changes. With WebUpdate, I can quickly adapt to those changes. A few weeks after my new site became active the amount of inquiries was amazing!   Even for a computer novice like me, this system is user-friendly and easy to manage. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting creative with my new site and highly recommend it to any company that wants to have the freedom and control to adjust its site whenever changes occur.'
