Digg (digg.com) is a very useful type of site for anyone who publishes a Blog or Podcast on their site. Similar in 'get yourself noticed' principle to YouTube, Digg is a social bookmarking site.  Site owners can make their blogs and podcasts 'addable' to Digg by simply placing a button on the relevant page of their site.  The button code to do this is easily inserted into your site by your web developer.

If a visitor to your site thinks the blog or video is interesting, funny or useful, they can click the button to 'bookmark it' to one of Digg's many categories.  The more of your visitors who click the button, the higher your points, and therefore popularity, go.

One of the best reasons for using Digg type resources
is to create external links to your site, which then helps
with your overall search engine rankings.

Similar to YouTube, visitors to Digg can then browse through content by subject matter, medium or popularity. Digg is not the only site like this out there; other prominent sites include del.i.cious, StumbleUpon and now Yahoo and Google have similar features. While, as I mentioned previously, a blog can greatly help your search engine keywords, one of the best reasons for using Digg type resources is to create external links to your site, which then helps with your overall search engine rankings.

If you are ready to take your business to the next level, this would be a perfect time to research newer web technologies, such as our own WebUpdate4 system, which includes many advanced features, to give your business the best competitive edge online.

CLIENT EXPERIENCES

Tidewater Yacht Marina

'We got WebUpdate last year, in time for our season, and it's working really well for us.  Internet Marketing and Design was just wonderful - so patient with setting up the site and training us.

It's just so easy to use.  We have an online newsletter and can update information like weather reports, bridge openings, tide schedules, coming events and specials, in minutes right here in our office.

The bonus is, of course, that we can easily track everything on our web site.

It's nothing like our first web site.  It's just an incredible difference and it's really helped our business.'
